A good article about how Google ( NASDAQ: GOOG ) is creating a niche for its own ideologies and its uniqueness in the market place. What I like about the company is they broke all traditional business laws, created a market cap of 120 billion $ ( as of nov 17 ) from a simple concept of 'search'. As someone wrote in slashdot, Google is one company where tech whizkids rule the show.

Nikon D200

Nikon has announced the new D200 (almost everyone knew about this release and it was no surprise). Details.

A 10 MP sensor, 5 fps continuous shooting ( impressive 22 frame raw buffer), weather sealed magnesium alloy body and a very attractive price tag of 1,700$ makes this camera a wonder. All I can say is 'wow'. DP Review has a detailed preview already available and almost all the aspects of the camera are discussed in detail.

Combined with this camera Nikon has also announced a 18-200 mm AF-S VR zoom lens ( 27-300 mm equivalent ) priced at about 670$. This is just what all semi-pros, amateaurs and serious hobbyists need. Just one lens for general purpose photographic needs.

As Ken Rockwell puts it, for another 3-4 years the D200 and the 18-200 lens will serve the general purpose photographic needs with an investment of about 2,400$.

p.s : This entry should have been in my upcoming photo blog but owing to the unexpected busy work schedule the new blog is still 'under construction' :).
